 | Housing Works has 5 thrift shops in Manhattan. on 17th Street, 23rd Street, Columbus Avenue, 77th Street and West 10th Street respectively. They have a used book cafe on Crosby Street. Reasonable prices, and frequent book sales.
 | Salvation Army Locations include 112 4th Avenue, 208 8th Avenue, and West 8th Street all in Manhattan. Numerous other locations.

 | Libraries: Here is a list of all of them. Many of the public libraries sell books all the time. Others sell them only at certain times of the week. Still others sell them at special events. I don't think you can find much at a small library that sells books all the time. Look for the larger libraries, such as Mid-Manhattan or smaller libraries that only sell books at special events.
